BDSM Dynamics : BunBun

Hai hai, it's me Bun again! Today, I'll be educating y'all on the basic roles in the BDSM lifestyle! I'll preface this with saying; every role is going to be different for everyone, it's what makes every dynamic so unique and so beautiful! I'm providing you with the framework, it's up to y'all to finish building the house.

Basic BDSM Roles:

Dominant- the person who has the authority in the dynamic. Natural Dominants have an authority you can *feel*. To bring it full circle with my last post, authentic Dominants do *not* have anything to prove. You will be able to see it. In the way they talk and interact with others, the way they handle you or other submissives. This is also why taking your time is crucial. You don't really know a person unless you take the time and watch to learn.

Master/Mistress- most commonly used in either a TPE(total power exchange dynamic) or in roleplay. This is a person whom owns a slave and had 100% control of them (naturally given by the slave at their place). This can and usually does, include picking their outfits, the way they color/cut their hair, what they eat, how they conduct their every day lives. It all is beneficial to the slave, and brings satisfaction to the Master/Mistress when tasks are completed.

Top- the person administering the sensation in a play scene. I.e. the person holding the flogger, whip, or paddle. This term normally doesn't extend outside of the physical kink side of things. It "stays in the bedroom" if you will.

Submissive- the person who gives up authority in a power exchange dynamic (which includes all dynamics). Again, submissives hold the power. With their trust in their Dominant, comes their submission. It comes naturally, never by force.

Slave/property- the person who gives up authority in a TPE dynamic, or a name used while doing roleplay or other play activities. This is a person owned by a Master/Mistress. People may look from the outside and think that these people are being controlled in a terrible way, as if they were kidnapped and forced into doing their Master's/Mistress' bidding. But, as I keep repeating, *nothing* happens without the submissives consent!

Bottom- the person receiving the sensation in a play scene. I.e. the person getting flogged, whipped, or paddled. This term normally doesn't extend outside of the physical kink side of things. This also "stays in the bedroom".

Switch- a person who enjoys multiple, varying roles. A person who is both Dominant and submissive.

Masochist- a person who gets pleasure from receiving pain, often times sexually. There are people who enjoy mental pain as well. I.e. being told they can't play with themselves "Don't you dare touch while I'm running my errands".

Sadist- a person who gets pleasure from giving pain, often times sexually. As stated above, there are people who enjoy giving mental pain, having their submissive's mind under control as well as their body.

Basic CGL roles:

Little- an adult person who regresses to a childlike state during play or at other times. They take on the characteristics of different aged children, based on what they're comfortable with. Regression helps them deal with the stresses of life, or from past traumatic experiences.

Middle-an adult person that regresses to the state of an older child or a teen, during play or at other times. Again, this is subjective to each person and what they're comfortable with, and helps them deal with current, or past stressors.

Big- an adult person who acts as caregiver to a little or middle, but does not regresses at all.

Daddy/Mommy- a nurturing person who takes on the role as Dominant, but softer. They, in a lot of ways, act as a stand in parental figure. They give structure, encouragement, affirmation, and of course give punishments for broken rules, etc. It brings them great pleasure to help, and have a great role in helping, their little/middle to become the best person they can be.

Baby boy/girl- a person who possesses traits like a child, or enjoys roleplaying a childlike role. Similar to little or adult baby. It is commonly used as a nickname or pet name in the DDlg community.

Those are the basics!! There is so much more to the kink world! The website I used for this definitions is: https://msmorganthorne.com/glossary-bdsm-roles/

I encourage you all to take a look and educate yourself on all of the terms listed. It really isn't a "one shoe fits all" lifestyle. If y'all have any questions, please don't hesitate to leave a comment below and we'll answer ASAP!
